Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope
There are various names for a group of butterflies I like 'A Kaleidoscope'. It is very close to the edge of a small lake I'm assuming there is something in the damp soil that was attracting them

Fred Fouarge, Helena Ferreira, Annemarie, Rosalyn Hilborne and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

There is a good explanation here, Peter.

Today Geo found a meeting of swallowtails, and last year I found one of Blue Butterflies !
There is something in the ground that is attractive to them !! You also have your nice meeting today, while I was playing petanque with some friends lol !!! Have a nice week to come, Peter !

Did you upload this a few weeks ago! If not it must have been someone else with an uncannily similar shot!
Anyway, good to see again !

My mistake! Yes I read the helpful link. It's obviously a common thing so it was unsurprising that someone else posted a very similar shot a while back!

Nice pic. They're probably attracted to the dampness--I've seen butterflies on mud pretty commonly.
