The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for Rain, applicable to most of Cumbria over the morning of 4th November 2025. This will be falling onto already saturated ground, after downpours over the weekend and Monday, and flooding is possible [almost certain, I would say !]

"Transport disruption" was an understatement - the West Coast Mail Line was blocked on Monday {3rd November 2025 at 06:10} at Shap summit [right under that yellow patch] by a small mudslide derailing the front bogie under the first vehicle of a southbound train {the rest of which stayed upright & on the track} - All sorted within 28hours despite continued heavy rain.
