yam[25] - Tiger Cat
Tiger Cat - control system and missiles on trailers, towed by LandRovers.
The land-based mobile version of the "Sea Cat" anti-aircraft missile which replaced the 40mm Bofors machine gun. Designed & built by Short Brothers, introduced from 1962. Saw some service in the Falklands {with inconclusive results - ie no definite "kills" even by the more numerous "Seacat" launches}. In UK armed forces, replaced by Rapiers for (airfield) defence.
