agp - LNWR Poster

agp - LNWR Poster
A somewhat idealised view of the Aberglaslyn Pass used by the LNWR as publicity material.
.
I've been trying to relate that to the modern world ... I know where I think it is, which means the artist has somewhat romanticised the location.

Not my Image : fair use & public education

Wierd Folkersma, Robert Swanson, Gillian Everett, Annemarie and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Seems a travel agency advertising or did I get it wrong?

The poster was produced by the London & North Western Railway - one of the larger railway companies in pre-1923 grouping period - that ran regular and excursion services into North Wales. Aberglaslyn Pass is [still] very scenic.
[UK railway history is complicated so why the LNWR would show a horse-drawn stage coach is anyone's guess]

Interesting history. My great grandfather worked for LSWR, originally at Nine Elms, but then moved to Eastleigh, Southampton with the locomotive works.
