ClCh - Iceberg A-68 [5 0f 5]
The progress (drift) of iceberg A-68 towards South Georgia.

The worry was that it might ground in the shallower waters, which would block the routes used by penguins and other wildlife to access their feeding zones. It would seem that it has broken up and not yet become anchored to the sea bed.

News reports (mid April 2021) indicate that A-68 has all but melted away, after several splits and generally breaking into smaller and smaller fragments, to the point that the even the largest fell below the limit of the tracking criteria.

It is predicted the A-74 iceberg [2021] could follow a similar course to A-68, although it hasn't been reported to be moving very far, yet.
