la farfalla è una Cacyreus marshalli (Butler 1898) meglio conosciuta come Licenide dei gerani; è una piccola farfalla originaria dell’Africa meridionale (Sudafrica, Mozambico), che a causa dell'innalzamento della temperatura terrestre, e degli intensi scambi commerciali con i paesi africani, si è oramai spostata verso le latitudini settentrionali, giungendo, sulla penisola italiana, perfino in Piemonte. Questa specie, che nelle zone di origine non causa danni particolari, in Europa è diventata un vero flagello per i gerani coltivati, appartenenti ai generi Pelargonium e Geranium. Sul mio balcone ha messo KO il mio ultimo geranio finora sopravvissuto :( Spero non si ripeta anche con questa succulenta (Aptenia cordifolia)! Cacyreus marshalli on Aptenia cordifolia The Geranium Bronze or Brun des pélargoniums in French (Cacyreus marshalli) is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. The wingspan is 15–23 mm for males and 18–27 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round in warmer areas, but usually from August to May in South Africa. It is brown with a fine black edge interlaced with white and a very thin tail. The underside is grey-brown with dark bands. The species is native of South Africa. It has, however, been introduced (deliberately or accidentally) to Mediterranean Europe (initially the Balaeric Islands), where it has spread as a pest of cultivated Pelargonium geraniums. On my balcony she destroyed my last pelargonium :( Hope that she will not be a killer also for this succulent ! Caratteristiche: torace stretto e addome bulboso, occhi a punta in una testa triangolare, lunghe antenne, classiche zampe anteriori da predatore. Forse questa è una femmina poiché non ha ali molto sviluppate e poi il maschio ha l'addome molto più arcuato. Hibiscus syriacus È il fiore nazionale della Corea del Sud, dove viene coltivato da tempo immemore, sia come pianta ornamentale che per farne tisane. Dal 1963 compare nel loro stemma nazionale. Importata dall'Asia nel 16o secolo, si diffuse in Europa, dove venne ritenuta, in un primo momento, pianta da serra, e solo successivamente, verso la fine del 1600, pianta da piena terra. Dall'Inghilterra si diffuse verso le colonie americane, dove viene spesso chiamata "Rosa di Sharon". Noi compriamo la verdura direttamente dai produttori locali, di quelli che non usano pesticidi e simili, perciò spesso ci arrivano questi simpatici ospiti. Dopo il servizio fotografico li libero sempre portandoli nell'aiuola sotto casa ;-)

E tutto questo appena dopo essere uscito dal bellissimo lago Zürichsee (Lago di Zurigo). Nella foto sottostante si ha la visione a 180°, cioè verso il lago. Questo quartiere, che risulta alle spalle della foto, era già importante nel Medio Evo, approdo per le imbarcazioni commerciali, era anche un centro della industria della seta e per la costruzione delle barche. Ora è un posto tranquillo e molto gradevole, con negozi di artigiani, boutique e squarci pittoreschi. In PiP la visione a 180 gradi sulla sinistra. vista dal quartiere Schipfe lungo il Limmat The Limmat is a river in Switzerland. The river commences at the outfall of Lake Zurich, in the centre of the city of Zurich. From Zurich it flows in a north-westerly direction, after 35 km reaching the river Aare. Historically, the Limmat was an important navigation route. In the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, voyages from Zurich to Koblenz are recorded. In 1447, the Emperor Frederick III granted the privilege of free navigation on the Limmat and on the Rhine to Zurich. Because of the current, navigation was typically downstream only, with the barges being sold on arrival. Today, the Limmat is navigable for much of its length by small craft only, with many of the hydroelectric power plants incorporating boat lifts. The traditional boat type used on the river is the weidling, a flat-bottomed vessel that is usually 10 metres (33 ft) long. The uppermost stretch of the river through the centre of Zurich is navigable by rather larger vessels, albeit limited by low bridges. The Fraumünster Church in Zurich is built on the remains of a former abbey for aristocratical women which was founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard. The abbey was dissolved on 30 November 1524 in the course of the reformation and the monastery buildings were destroyed in 1898. Today, the church belongs to the Swiss Reformed Church and is one of the three main churches of Zürich, the other's being the Grossmünster and St. Peter's church. Very beautiful the new stained glass windows in the choir by Marc Chagall.
