Delosperma cooperi (syn. Mesembryanthemum cooperi; common names Trailing Iceplant or "Pink Carpet") is a dwarf perennial plant, native to South Africa. It forms a dense lawn with abundant, long-lasting flowering. It will reach sizes of approximately 10-15 cm tall, with fleshy leaves and a trailing stem that hangs down. The flowers are the most brilliant aspect of this plant, with the production of a great quantity of vermillion, magenta or pink flowers that will often cover the entire site. La funicolare di Mondovì è un impianto di funicolare costruito nel 1886 per collegare il quartiere di Breo e quello di Piazza della città di Mondovì. Inizialmente era un impianto a contrappeso d'acqua trasformato a trazione elettrica nel 1926. A causa della necessità della messa in sicurezza, molto onerosa, l'impianto venne chiuso nel 1975. I lavori iniziarono solo nel '98 e si conclusero nel 2006, Da allora è molto usata anche turisticamente data la spettacolarità della vista che si gode dalle nuove cabine. Qui sotto allego una foto dell'interno della stazione, nella quale è affissa un'immagine dei tempi andati, le cabine erano meno panoramiche, ma molto più romantiche ! Saint Magnus of Cuneo (Italian: San Magno) is venerated as a member of the legendary Theban Legion. The centre of his cult is situated at the mountain sanctuary known as the Santuario di San Magno, in the Valle Grana, Castelmagno, in the province of Cuneo. Local tradition makes him a soldier of the Theban Legion, which had been commanded by Saint Maurice. The Legion, according to tradition, was largely massacred in 286 AD, but Magnus fled to the mountains of Piedmont, preaching the Christian religion in the Alps.[1] He was eventually martyred and buried in the spot now occupied by the Santuario di San Magno. The church, however, may have occupied a spot once dedicated to the Roman god Mars. The current church was built between 1704 and 1716, in Piedmontese Baroque style, though its interior still preserves frescoes of the 15th and 16th centuries.
