HFF Mountsorrel Leicestershire 5th October 2026

The scale of Tarmac's Mounsorrel Quarry workings is clear from the gigantic dumper trucks coming up out of the deepest part of the quarry.

The Ordovician-age Mountsorrel Granite (actually granodiorite) has been mined for 100s of years and the deepest levels reach down 177m. It is one of the largest granite quarries in Europe.
