A 05.30 am sign-on to fire British Railways Standard 5 4-6-0 73156 saw us work a Driver Experience at 09.30 followed by the 11.10 passenger service to Leicester North.

Here with 2 minutes to go we have the road from platform 1 but await the guard's tip to depart with the 11.10.

So driver-experience is not concurrent with a regular passenger service? What load is used, mixed goods?

This was a Saturday so we had 2 locos working & Datex and service trains were concurrent. We were on the 09.30 Datex the other loco took the 10.00 service train. It was a Bronze level Driver Experience so just light engine. The Silver & Gold levels run all day with a rake of passenger coaches.
