HWW Bassenthwaite Lake Railway Station Cumbria 20th June 2008
The roofless remains of the station building at Bassenthwaite Lake on the former Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway. This is the platform side view, the LMR red paint on the open doors a reminder of its former ownership by the LMS.
The station opened in 1865 and was closed by British Railways in 1966 along with the entire line west from Keswick. It has since been totally renovated and reopened as a Café and Special Events Venue.
Another HWW from Bassenthwaite
