Panic was published by E.C. comics, who also published a similar and better-known satire comic called Mad Comics, which eventually became Mad Magazine. Like most E.C. comics of the day, Panic featured four stories by comic art heavyweights like Bill elder, Jack Davis, and the great Wally Wood.
Panic is one of a handful of titles that E.C. published after the Comics Code Authority (C.C.A.) was established, usually designated as their short-lived "New Direction" titles. The C.C.A. effectively did away with the more popular E.C. books like Tales from the Crypt and The Vault of Horror.
This issue features a spoof of Mary Worth entitled "Mary Worthless" by Bill Elder as well as Wally Wood's spoof "20,000 Leaks Under the Sea." The cover satire of a box of Wheaties predates Wacky Packages by more than a decade!
Panic issue No.11 - November 1955.
