I saw this a good few years ago on a road running off the A1 at North Charlton. Sadly it was gone along with the pole when I passed earlier this year.

Point of Ayr

09 Jun 2006 249
Apart from a few railway tracks in the concrete loading areas this is all that remained. Point of Ayr colliery was the last colliery in North Wales and closed in 1996. At one time coal was exported by sea using the colliery's own fleet of ships. In its final years it supplied power station coal to Fiddlers Ferry power station near Warrington. The coal seams were worked under the Dee estuary and, despite extensive reserves, it closed as a result of the reduced demand for coal due to the use of gas in electricity generation.

Drybridge Lodge, Mostyn, built in 1849 by Ambrose Poynter, is one of a fine series of 19th century lodges and gates forming the architectural setting of Mostyn Park. It is a castellated lodge of 2 storeys superimposed on a bridge above a road, with an integral tunnel through the building itself.
