Harringworth

|
Harringworth viaduct crosses the valley of the River Welland between Harringworth in Northamptonshire and Seaton in Rutland. The viaduct is 1,275 yards long and has 82 arches, each with a 40 feet span. It is the longest viaduct across a valley in the United Kingdom. Built by the contractor Lucas and Aird, a total of 30 million bricks were used in the viaduct's construction. It was completed in 1878. The viaduct is on the Oakham to Kettering line between Corby and Manton Junction, where it joins the Leicester to Peterborough line. It is listed Grade II.

On the day of the public reopening of the Caldon Low branch of the Churnet Valley Railway, 8F 8624 climbs hard after passing the former station at Winkhill. This section no longer carries trains after the line was lifted east of the current terminus at Ipstones.

Hudswell Clarke 1173 of 1924 - 0-6-0WT+T 'ALPHA' in action at the Statfold Barn Railway. The locomotive was restored to working order in 2016 by the team at Statfold Barn.

Steam fun with Sentinel 0-4-0VBT during the Industrial Railway Society AGM event at the Chasewater Light Railway. The locomotive was new to the Tottenham Gas and Light Company and was No 11 in their fleet. It is chain driven to all wheel through a two speed gearbox from a 100hp two cylinder vertical engine.
