Riding the narrow gauge

The light was rapidly fading when we joined the train on the Shibanxi Coal Railway. First stop was the mine station at Yue Jin Qiao and this shot from the glassless window of our carriage on the Shibanxi Coal Railway. Contents of the ashpan are being dumped as the train sets off and passes under the conveyor to the adjacent power station. The overhead wires are for the locomotives hauling coal trains from the coal mine here down to the terminus at Shibanxi.
