This unassuming building standing alone in the fields was once the magazine for the Poynton Collieries. The need for a remote location is obvious as was the design with strong brick walls and a light roof which would channel any explosion upwards. A few years ago the roof had been stripped and the future for the building looked poor, but the landowner has now had it repaired.
