Minimalist

Minimalist
This swing bridge over the Macclesfield Canal at Kent Green displays a minimalist approach to access. At one time there has been a vehicle width accommodation bridge but the need for that has long since ended. However, some means of crossing has to maintained here as the bridge carries a public footpath. This is not popular with boaters who have to stop to open and, hopefully, close it again.

The Danes Moss bridge is another one on a right of way.

It is the last remaining full-sized swing bridge on the Macclesfield Canal and would certainly have been removed if not for the right of way.
