Sutherland Works


The Sutherland Works stands on Normacot Road in Longton dates from c1850 and is listed Grade II. Sutherland China was founded by William Hudson in 1889 and operated from the Alma Works, Longton until 1892 when the company moved to the Sutherland Pottery. Hudson and Middleton joined their respective businesses in 1941 and continued to operate from this works.
