Moederdag - Mother's day

Sinds 2013 is Willem-Alexander staatshoofd van Nederland. Zijn moeder Beatrix was dat van 1980 tot aan 2013, zijn grootmoeder van 1948 tot 1980, zijn overgrootmoeder van 1898 tot 1948. Zijn betovergrootmoeder was koningin-regentes van 1890 tot 1898.
Voor een deel is dat te zien op munten. Onderaan de Nederlandse munt van 5 eurocent met Willem-Alexander. Daarboven Beatrix, zij staat op Nederlandse euromunten sinds 1999. Weer daarboven ook Beatrix, maar dan op een ‘ouderwetse’ bronzen stuiver (5 cent), en verder Juliana en Wilhelmina. De oudste drie munten waren geldig tot 28 januari 2002, de nieuwste zijn geldig in de hele eurozone vanaf 1 januari 2002.

King Willem-Alenxander is head of state of The Netherlands since 2013. His mother Beatrix was that from 1980 to 2013, his grandmother from 1948 to 1980, his great-grandmother from 1898 to 1948. His great-great-grandmother was queen-regent from 1890 to 1898.
That is partially visible on coins. At the bottom the Dutch coin of 5 eurocent with Willem-Alexander. Above that Beatrix, she is on Dutch eurocoins from 1999 to 2013. Above that again Beatrix, but then on an ‘old-fashioned’ bronze stuiver (5 cent or 1/20 guilder), and further Juliana and Wilhelmina. The oldest three coins were legal tender up till 28 january 2002, the newest are valid throughout the whole eurozone since 1 january 2002.
The photo can be seen as the mother’s side of a family tree. The underground is a kind of ‘royal’ blue.
