Road to Enchantment
Once in awhile we all deserve to venture into a change of pace from the regular lives that we lead. A magical road recently took me from the drab and uneventful into that alluring world of irresistible beauty.

First Line of Defense

Gather behind the fortress walls, citizens. The Huns are advancing upon us! If the fence does not stop them, the moat will. In last resort, man the battlements!!

Hawk Hill

This hill was used a fortress lined with concrete bunkers defending the entry to the Golden Gate Strait in times past. Now hawks soar over the hill staging their aerobatic mating rituals during the Springtime while tourist enjoy the spectacular views of The Golden Gate and San Francisco far below.

Perdition

Through the godforsaken land the people wandered
Hope of a promised land propelled them onward

Trekking across a land that was cursed

Animated Character
Recently I ran across this old character who told me, "I was quite a dandy in my day, son. In fact, if you don't mind me tooting my own horn, I have still got it! Mark my words, some day I will be a star in one of those new-fangled animated films, just you wait and see!!"

Smelling Sweet

Like it's cousin in Belgium, www.ipernity.com/doc/berny/48163194 , The Skunk Train sits idle with generations of memories of it's journeys along the Redwood Route. It is, however, still operational and provides thrills to tourists each summer. A new coat of paint might give it a bit more class.

The Final Word

Instead of using profane language when discussing sensitive topics online, I shall just post this photo. It will save a lot of energy and verbiage, since we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words!

Sing Along

Street Shot

In a change from my normal subject matter of Nature and Landscape Photography, I have headed into a local neighborhood to record their way of life. This community needs a sturdy fence to prevent residents from being led away from the straight and narrow. Deviation from the path could lead to a fall from grace.

Unobstructed

Fortunately, the minimalist fence does not block the spectacular view. It also does not provide much security for absent minded photographers focusing their cameras, who may tumble the 1,000 meters to Yosemite Valley below. The Grim Reaper (Half Dome) sees all.
