Parapat

Parapat
In north-central Sumatra on the shores of Lake Toba is the town of Parapat where there was a transit center with a fascinating assortment of animal-drawn vehicles, bicycles and even an occasional car. I stopped here a lifetime ago to take a ferry to the island of Samosir frequented by international overland travelers.

This photo was taken by a Yashica Electro 35CC film camera and COLOR-YASHINON DX 1:1.8 f=35mm lens using Kodak Daylight 135 negative film, the negative scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

occasional car, sounds like ages ago... still in the span of a man's life experience

A lot has changed in Paparat (and a man’s life experience) in the 52 years since this photo was taken! Yet, I still have (and use) the Yashica Electro 35CC camera that took this shot.

Great to hear you still use such a fine piece of proper photo gear. Please, keep posting also in Film Forward! group – I’m trying to keep it active, and we’re hoping to merge some of the analogue‑photography groups in the near future, so every new film post really helps.
