Constantine Algeria

Constantine Algeria
A beautiful fortress town in north central Algeria that I passed through on a journey across North Africa in a past lifetime.

This image, shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC, came from a 35mm negative scanned by an HP Scanjet 5470c and digitally rendered with multiple Photoshop operations.

My 1977 journey across Algeria took me eastward into Tunisia, Libya and into Egypt (mostly hitchhiking). Fortunately no jail. I later traveled up the Nile into East Africa and over a year and a half eventually made it into central and southern Africa.
I too lost much of my film taken in in Egypt and the Sudan. The negatives and slides that survived needed digital restoration due to deterioration from poor storage.
The memories of these journeys survive and are part of what I am today.
