Tussock Moth caterpillar sp.
A poor, blurry image, posted for ID purposes and for a record of what was seen yesterday, 21 August 2013, when a group of us went to Keith Logan's place, near Water Valley, Alberta (i.e NW of Calgary). I've only ever seen this kind of caterpillar once before - a species of Tussock Moth, but I'm not sure exactly which one. I tried and tried to get a decent shot of it, but I just couldn't get a sharp capture. This botanizing day is always different from when we go and record all flora and fauna seen at various other locations. Keith produces both outstanding photography and woodwork. He and his wife, Sandy, live in an amazing home, filled with Keith's woodwork - everything from the kitchen cabinets, to all the indoor doors, railing, frames, chairs, etc.. Sandy treated us to coffee and freshly made cheese scones and spicy scones that came straight out of the oven!! Delicious doesn't begin to describe them!!! The Logans also have three (?) beautiful cats and two enormous, black dogs (which I can't for the life of me remember what kind they are!). Such a delightfully enjoyable day! Thanks so much to Keith and his wife for everything! Thanks, Sandy (D), for drivng some of us - greatly appreciated as always).
