Dotted Blazingstar
This is a macro shot of this native wildflower, Dotted Blazingstar (Liatris punctata). It gets its name from the leaves, which are dotted with tiny pits. I never find this an easy plant to photograph when I include the entire flower cluster, so thought I'd try concentrating on just part of it. Seen at the Erlton/Roxborough Natural Area, said to be the richest area in the city for flora.
