Peony

I called in at the Reader Rock Garden late this afternoon, on my way home. One of the flowers I really wanted to see was a pink Lady's-slipper, which was still in bloom. Several kinds of Peony were in full bloom or past their prime. I liked the way the sun just caught the edge of this rather pretty one. Delicate colours. While I was walking around the garden, I could hear the sound of Aboriginal drums (which I love) wafting across 25th Avenue, from the Stampede Grounds. The Indian Village that is set up for the duration of the Calgary Stampede is immediately opposite the hill where the Reader Rock Garden is.
