Bonne et heureuse journée paisible et salutaire.
Wünsche noch einen schönen Nachmittag, liebe Grüße Güni :))
Colorful and kindly image, Annamaria.
Perhaps the proximity of Goa (former Portuguese and Catholic territory) explains this high percentage.
Una immagine incantevole, cara Annemarie

a| Apostolic Origin: Kerala’s Christians, known as Saint Thomas Christians, believe their faith was founded by the Apostle Thomas, who arrived in Kerala in 52 AD. He is said to have established several churches and converted local communities, including Brahmins and Jews, giving Kerala’s Christians a unique apostolic heritage.
b| Syriac Tradition: Before the Portuguese arrived in the 16th century, Kerala’s Christians followed the East Syrian Church (Church of the East), using Syriac liturgy and maintaining close ties with Persian Christian communities. Their practices were distinct from both Western Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox Christianity as known in Russia or Eastern Europe.
When the Portuguese reached Kerala, they were surprised to find an established Christian community with its own traditions and leadership, independent of Rome. Today, this tradition is called Orthodox (specifically, the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church), but it bears no resemblance to Russian or Eastern European Orthodoxy. Instead, it reflects a blend of Indian and ancient Persian Christian influences, making Kerala’s Christian heritage unique.
