50 Images Project - Greenwich Foot Tunnel (7/50) North entrance on Island Gardens

The DLR (Docklands Light Railway) is an automated, driverless, light metro system providing a connection between London's two major financial districts, Canary Wharf and the City of London. It was first opened on 31 August 1987. This bridge is the junction at West India Quay station.

The undercroft was a place of burial, on one of the walls, there is a map with the names of all those interred here... In the 18th century the undercroft became a place for people to leave their unwanted babies. The records of the Inn show payments to people to care for the abandoned children, who would usually be given the surname ‘Lincoln’.
