I normally hibernate when it is cold and snowy :-) But, last Monday I braved the elements and went to Oxford. Thankfully, most of the snow had disappeared!
This shot is of Nuffield College and I believe this is the library tower topped by a flèche. A flèche is, apparently, a lead-covered timber spire, or spirelet :-)
Nuffield College was founded in 1937 after a donation to the University by William Richard Morris an English motor manufacturer who founded Morris Motors Limited.
I was looking for a motor car link for 'Sight and Sound' and here comes a very wayward one :-)

Canons Ashby House is the ancestral home of the Dryden family. The house has remained almost unchanged since the 18th Century.
I also wanted to add my photo to 'Sight and Sound' but had almost given up trying to find a suitable link. But, then I found out that Spencer Dryden was drummer for Jefferson Airplane.
