254/366: Pink Poppy Petals
Back in 2014, I had a raised bed garden and filled it with flower seeds, especially poppies. As spring turned into summer, the incredible explosion of color was indescribably beautiful and took my breath away on a daily basis. I'll never forget the din of bees as I approached. Thousands of honeybees and bumble bees descended on the flowers, and countless other insects too. I would make my way into the fenced-off garden and slowly move around to take pictures and water the plants. The bees couldn't care less about me--they were all totally crazy about the pollen and nectar that was bursting from all of the blossoms. What a sight. Some day I'll have another garden, but for now, I am overjoyed to have pictures like this one, which bring me right back there to the lovely flowers that I got to grow. :)
