235/366: The Alluring, Strange Grevillea Rosmarinifolia 'Jenkinsii'

I have saved my favorite picture from the Ashland Garden Tour for the last! Yes, after 42 pictures, I have FINALLY reached the end of this collection.

How about this for an extremely unusual flower? I found these blossoms on a plant with sharp, pine-like needles. I've never seen anything like them, have you? A huge THANKS to Fizgig and Tiabunna for identifying this amazing flower for me!

Explored on August 25, 2016. Highest placement, #3. (WOW THANK YOU!!!)

Anton Cruz Carro, Luc Reiniche, Gabriella Siglinde, sunlight and 56 other people have particularly liked this photo

Oh this is exquisite Janet. Such an unusual flower. I'm sorry I have no idea what it's called, can you ring you friend who took you to Ashland, or has the garden, maybe she can let you know what it's called. Wonderful macro and bokeh effect again - well done you

What a lovely macro. Without any real conviction as to ID, both the flower and leaves look similar to some of the grevillea flowers native to Australia.
