In extreme northern Nevada--the plain in the distance is in Idaho. I thought this was a bristlecone, but I'm not sure. The mountains to the right in the distance are the Jarbidge Mtns, the site of Nevada's first designated wilderness area.

I would say these two are definitely a Bristlecone Pines. They are the oldest living things on the planet. They are simply incredible.

I have had the honour of see one. It was around 3500 years old .

Then there is "Methusalah" in CA was reckoned to be the oldest at nearly 5000 years old... but there is rumour an even older one has been found and dated.

They keep the whereabouts of these amazing trees quiet... there will always be idiots.

Yeah, bristlecones occur on lots of the highest ranges in the Basin and Range (and even on the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff, AZ), but there are other, similar species as well, limber pine in particular. You have to look at how the needles are clustered to distinguish them, and I didn't do that here (not that I remember at this point which is which! ;)
