Crossed Arms and "Stroppy"

Crossed Arms and "Stroppy"
Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: CROSSED ARMS
My cousins Pat and Heather in 1964.
Pat is the one with crossed arms and attitude - "stroppy" she calls herself now. haha.
She is thirteen and Heather is fourteen.
Rayleigh, Essex, England - the morning after one of our "going away" parties (emigrating to the States).

RicksPics, Alan Mays, Roger (Grisly), Smiley Derleth have particularly liked this photo

I'll bet so many families have images like this, teenagers, hey.

One of the few things I missed about Flikr was the group "I'm So Bershon" which featured photos of eye rolling teens taken by their parents. So funny! (Although the group had gone down hill by 2013).
But yes, Roger, you're right. Most parents have examples like this! : )

Wow! They've got the look and the attitude and they're all set for a shot on Ready Steady Go! Perfect '60s look, Deborah.

Rick - haha, they do!
It's funny to think that Ready, Steady, Go! aired at about 4:30 in the afternoon. Kind of says a lot about teens then and now.

I like Heather's fluffy slippers or whatever they are. And, coincidentally, I don't think I ever heard the word "stroppy" until recently when I came across an Australian indie pop group called the Stroppies.

Alan - houses - even newly built houses - did not have central heating in the 1950s/60s. We heated with coal in small fireplaces and once you moved away from the smallish circle of heat it was FRIGID. We all had hot water bottles for our beds keeping us from overnight hypothermia. haha
So warm, furry slippers were a necessity and females from toddlers to centurions had them. I'm sure the males had them too, but my memory is not so strong for them.
Below is a photo of me and our neighbors - fuzzy slippers and all.
