Blurry But Charming

Blurry But Charming
Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: BLURRY BUT CHARMING
This is a glass plate negative. You have to take a chance when you buy them because it's hard to see how much in focus they are. I've been really lucky over the years and most of the glass plates I've bought have been great, but even those that aren't perfect often have charm.
I'm cheating because I couldn't decide between two of them, so I'm putting another blurry but charming glass plate negative under this one!
Both of these were purchased in New York state.

Quite nice! I like how everyone is looking toward the camera except the one fellow who's leaning against the building. And could that be a church judging by the distinctive shape of the doorway?

Yep, pretty sure that's a church. That man leaning against the building looks oddly posed.

Love the hand-on-hip pose but I can't work out if she's being sassy or scolding. The little girl's dress is lovely and she completely charming. The baseball team is a classic. I seem to recall another of your photos of an early baseball team that I enjoyed.

the angle of the main photo is fascinating in that it is from basically the ground up. that could be why the woman has her hand on her hip. perhaps a child got ahold of the camera? really love the casual man leaning on the building with his leg up.
