Stonehenge, 1972

Stonehenge, 1972
Back when you could get up close and personal.
And chip off pieces of rock for souvenirs - which is what people did for years, I've read.
It was so incredible to see Stonehenge rising up on the plain. I was eighteen years old, and had read about it, and seen photos - but the I remember that the reality of its strangeness took my breath away.

Alan Mays, , , Chrissy have particularly liked this photo

An archival image like this one seems wonderful for the subject, lends a certain nostalgia--very appealing.

Thanks, Rhisiart, and thank you for suggesting the 70s group.
I have some more Stonehenge photos from this visit that I'll post at some point.
Someone pointed out to me once, that Stonehenge is one of the few uninflected two syllable words in the English language. What do you think?
