Our New House, c.1958

Our New House, c.1958
Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: STEPS, STAIRS, STAIRCASES
Our hallway in Woodlands Avenue, Rayleigh, Essex, England.
We only lived here from 1958 to 1964 - although it felt like forever to me.
Every detail and color is still so clear to me - wallpaper, stair runner, blanket chest, the tile windowsill and pewter vase.

Great compostion and details! The paterns in the runner and wallpaper attracted my attention first, and then the posts and rails of the staircase itself. I noticed the light from the windows and the items on the sills, but I didn't catch the tiles, pewter vase, and chest until I read your description.

What a great, detailed, photo, Deborah. It's so nice to have photos to recover the little, lost, details of our past.

Thanks, Rick.
My mother took some great photos over the years, Here's another one she took of her childhood home - subsequently, my grandparents' unchanged home.
