Translation:
Pedestrians watch out for horse-drawn carriages!
ONLY WALK SPEED!
Drivers of heavy carriages have to lead their horses by the reins or to send a adult in front to warn the pedestrians.

Buiten dienst = Out of service
The old lifts in my office keep breaking down. Then the little out-of-service light come on. That works perfectly.
Waiting for the Van Brienenoord Bridge in Rotterda…
|
|
The bridge can be found in Rotterdam. It is part of the motorway A16, one of the busiest in the Netherlands. The bridge crosses the Nieuwe Maas river. The bridge is 1320 meters long and is 24 meters above the water. Click here to see where this photo was taken.
The bridge is named after the island Van Brienenoord below the bridge. The island is named after A.W. Baron van Brienen van de Groote Lindt, a rich nobleman and businessman, also member of parliament in the 19th century. He cast the decisive vote in favour for the liberal constitution of 1848.

Hopefully, in a couple of years, we are left with the insects that don't fly into cars.
