I went to Eindhoven University today, to have a meeting with some colleagues. It used to take 90 minutes by train to travel from Leiden to Eindhoven, but now, due to progress, it takes 2 hours. The train journey is pleasurable enough though, to Eindhoven I travelled in former German train carriages. You can adjust the heating and ventilation, although adjusting the lever or knob produces no result whatsoever. The German train carriages still have compartments, which is more train-like I think.

The catering in the double decker trains was done by means of a little trolley. The trains were fitted with lifts so that trolley could go to both floors. The minibar service was discontinued some years ago, so the lift motors are OFF.
