Dates from 1587–1590, originally an ornament of the garden of Villa Montalto Peretti. When the Villa was demolished in 1887, the fountain was moved to the Via Genova, only to be moved again to this spot in 1923. Originally there was a statue of a prisoner, together with Apollo and Venus, but those were lost.
