Terrace perhaps?

Yes, but terrace as a place where you can drink outside a cafe or bar would be more correctly translated as pavement cafe, outdoor cafe or sidewalk cafe, wouldn't it?

As ever there is ambiguity with an English word, what your suggesting i.e. "pavement cafe, outdoor cafe or sidewalk cafe" is perfectly correct, but you can see from example one below where the confusion arises ;¬)

Anyway chairs and tables on the pavement in the Black Country is called eviction ;¬)

But this isn't a level paved area, it is just the street.
