Originally the Broekpolder was served by a mill from 1625. That one was destroyed in 1840, after which a new mill was built. After a storm and a fire in 1972 that mill was rebuilt with the aid of a mill from Haarlem. Because the polder is quite small now, this mill has an easy life.
