The girls are used to going for Pitfire Pizza after swap-o-rama-ramas at ReDiscover Center. So we still went to Pitfire, even though yesterday's event was at Crashspace (not so close by). I made the arm warmer at the swap.

From my CSA box. It was chilly in the house today, so I left the thermostat alone, and roasted veggies instead. Delicious, and pretty too.

Okay, I actually persuaded a picky ten-year-old that golden beets, fried up in butter with lots of salt, were almost like french fries.

...make cookies! Cookies made with shredded beets. Even my picky 9-year-old said they're "really good." (I didn't tell her why they were pink.) Also contain cornmeal, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon chips, and the usual cookie ingredients (flour, butter, baking soda, vanilla).
