I knew you'd like my latest three pictures, despite their having been taken hurriedly and 'on the hoof' on an organised walk. But however ecstatic you are about them, evoking a cry of "oh" and calling me "dear" is OTT.

Oh drat, you know far more than you think you do.

Epistemologically speaking, perhaps, but I wouldn't know.

Please give me an example of what you think that I think I know, but don't. I'd like to know.

Well, you knew I'd like your latest three pictures, for starters.

For your main course, I'd have thought, or even as a dessert, knowing you have such good taste.

I prefer apple pie with custard.

A just dessert. I've just had Christmas pudding for mine (left over from last year but still good) and for my main course boiled pasta with lasagne sauce, mashed-up pork rillets and fried onion. Nice, but it's ridiculous my spending half an hour making something that takes less than five minutes to eat.

Never heard of it before. And you have that with lasagne sauce? What a mixture!

You're not, an Italian once told me, supposed to use Lasagne sauce with pasta, but to my palette, with pork rillettes and fried onion (not very different from pork mince lasagne) it tastes right. I've yet to die of it.

I'm fine with Dolmio and minced beef, but the average lasagne sauce is pretty yuk to my taste.
