I challenge anyone to do better, it being drizzling at the time and the (real) sky and the lighting uniformly flat and grey.

Sod's Law that the 3-day photographic course was just when the weather was the worst it's been the whole summer - occasional bright spells, but mostly wet and grey. Worst of all was yesterday when it rained heavily the whole day and my planned stops (and pictures I'd hoped to get) in Durham and/or Stamford on the way home had to be scrubbed.

Perhaps it's time to give up on those courses, as they don't seem to teach you much.

They aren't expected to. They are for taking one (with a group of like-minded others) to where the best photo-opportunities are. Unfortunately they cannot predict the weather months in advance and schedule themselves accordingly.

One can take some D-lightfully Dis-mal pictures in the rain.
