When Ophelia Met Sahara - 16 October 2017

When Ophelia Met Sahara - 16 October 2017
On a long drive from Oxford to Fareham, the sky was dominated by turbulent clouds and a strange yellow-grey light without a drop of precipitation. In the south, as the cloud thinned enough to reveal the sun, it appeared as shown here, SOOC.

The remains of Hurricane Ophelia - a name associated with Hamlet rather than The Tempest - were affecting the west of the British Isles and had, reportedly, sucked in Saharan sands giving rise to the strange effects observed by many people.
