Oxford Castle - 14 October 2017

St George's Tower is the most significant remaining part of the early Oxford Castle. The castle itself was largely destroyed in the Civil War and the remaining buildings became a prison and, with development, an hotel. The remains today are surrounded by modern development which is not especially attractive.
