In Northern Germany you can find more of them compared to Southern Germany. Here, palm trees are becoming more popular ;-) I do like birch forests a lot! And my friend took the surprise PiP :-)

I love birch forests, Carol. There aren't too many where I live, more of them can be found in Northern Germany. My shopping expeditions are mainly online (except for food) or when I happen to come across something, in which case it probably can't be called an expedition ;-) And I did. A backpack and a pair of hiking shoes, more or less coincidentally. The hiking was planned though :-))
That's me taking the main photo taken by my friend (she likes surprise shots) ;-)

Yes, in Finland. I can imagine. Well, this is in Northern Germany and that's almost Finland ;-)))
