HMS Trent
A royal visitor to Sunderland - the HMS Trent of the Royal Navy departing Hudson Dock after a week's stay. The ship is an updated ('Batch 2') River-class Offshore Patrol Vessel completed in 2019.
Prior to its visit, the Trent had been involved in shadowing Russian naval vessels transiting British waters, to ensure that these did not carry out any antagonistic acts or interfere with any cables. It had also recent ly been deployed to the Mediterranean.
