The Cranes of Sunderland
With a large factory a short distance upstream on the River Wear, the Liebherr cranes are a familiar sight at the Port of Sunderland. The cranes are moved to either Corporation or Greenwells Quay, where they are disassembled and loaded onto cargo ships. The most notable destination has been two cranes destined for the Port of Zanzibar in Tanzania.
