Mute swan (Cygnus olor) in the morning light.

Mute swan (Cygnus olor) in the morning light.
She has swum and eaten at dawn. A few drops of water can still be seen. A mosquito has already started to bite the knob at the top of the beak. (Press Z to enlarge)

The female swan broods for around 36 days.

In PIP you can see the nest.
