Thames 1993

We were initially told that it was owned by George Harrison(!) That is most definitely wrong. It is the Oakley Court Hotel, near Windsor (NOT Henley, either!) Taken during our 1993 cruise along the Thames River. We hired a boat and went from nearly Oxford down to Hampton Court. Here our hired boat is tied up near the center of Henley. We had visited Britain several years previous, and drove to Henley to take a look. While strolling along the towpath, we saw many private boats tied up. Since we had become boaters ourselves, we decided that we would hire a boat on a future visit. So here we were. It was a lovely spring. The beautiful gardens you see are the pride of the lock-keepers. During certain hours, they come out and open and close the gates for us boaters. Off their schedule, the boaters need to manually operate the gates. We tried one, and found that it was too much of a workout. It was a lovely spring.
