Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, 2015

As part of our group activities during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in 2015, we trained to be assistants to balloon pilots. The training took place at an elementary school in Albuquerque, so we not only learned about the balloon operations, but the school children got a close-up look at the balloon. We parked our RV near the Balloon Fiesta grounds, in the area of the "landing field". When the wind was right, we had many balloons drift over us. It was easy to sit in our comfortable chairs and point the cameras up into the sky. See: swansonphotos.com/balloon_fiesta

Taken during our balloon ops training. The balloon owner was very helpful. He later flew this balloon at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. This activity took place at an elementary school, and the children were quite fascinated. We only helped to inflate the balloon, and then immediately packed it back up.
